John Harrison has worked in the technology sector for over 20 years, starting in support of several critical infrastructure sectors before moving to the public sector. It is here that he has spent the bulk of his career serving at the local government level. During the course of his career he has worked within and managed projects and teams in nearly every technology service area. Currently he is:

• Chief Information Security Officer for Virginia Department of Elections
• State Liaison for the the Virginia Local Government Executive (VaLGITE) professional group
• A Mentor for the MS-ISAC cybersecurity mentoring program
• A Member of the Commonwealth of Virginia IT Symposion (COVITS) Board
• An Appointed Member of the Commonwealth of Virginia Cybersecurity Planning Committee.
